Finally had some time to test a new technique I’ve been playing with lately. Animation one day, sound design another.

This is using an asset i created for VJing a while ago. I decided to re-render it and create something interesting in after effects with it. i like the song, i might write it into a  longer version.

This is my submission for Cut and Paste SF 2012. I think i could have won if i spent a little more time on it. I finished 3 hours before everyone else but still got an amazing crowd response when it was displayed. Just makes me want to work harder!

Using Cinema 4d and mograph. Trying to get creative with primitive shapes.

I saw a design similar to this on a flyer. I wanted to figure out how to recreate it using Shape layers in After Effects. Since it was in After Effects i decided to make it move and wrote some music to it. I guess the center design has something to do with finding your heart. Hence the heart image inside of a nautical compass shape.

Using particles to grow hair. I’m already making another version where the hair will actually be made of polygons.

I spent a lot longer on the music than i usually would for an animation like this. Much of my inspiration for that came from this track on Merck:

Just a quick animation using Cinema 4d. Been working with the mograph plug in a lot lately. A little post work done in After Effects. Particularly the Twitch effect at beginning and end.
